Idaho Community Action Network gets their Full Power Construction Permit

The Idaho Community Action Network (ICAN) applied for a full power non-commercial FM license back in 2007, and in March 2010 ICAN received their construction permit and can start building their new radio station!

ICAN was founded in January 1999 through a merger of Idaho Citizens' Network (a grassroots group voicing concerns of low-income families) and Idaho Hunger Action Council (a group advocating for low-income families and running a statewide food program). ICAN is a member-based non-profit organization with over 2,000 members state-wide. Their purpose is to educate and advocate on issues of social, racial, and economic justice and to eliminate poverty in Idaho. The members of ICAN speak with a united voice on issues that directly impact their lives, and encourages members to become effective leaders in their local communities through trainings and education. ICAN's work includes collective action on accessible health care for all, immigrant rights, access to affordable utilities, and food security.

Prometheus looks forward to working with ICAN and helping them build their new station and get on the air to broadcast about issues affecting communities in Idaho!
